July 9, 2017     .     6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Richfield Nazarene presents THE ROYALHEIRS for our July's Summer Concert Series on Sunday, July 9 at 6:00 PM!

The ROYALHEIRS hail from Flint, Michigan and organized in the fall of 1995 for the primary purpose of praising the Lord through the singing of ” Southern Gospel Music”. Their music has a quality that puts the emphasis on ministering through music.   Music that blends harmony with soul stirring words that are a welcome change of pace from other forms of music.

Just as their name implies, each ROYALHEIR is an Heir to Godly Royalty. Each member has a glowing testimony that will radiate during their musical presentation. Each member has an extensive background in Gospel Music. Each has committed themselves to sharing their talents in this unique way and have been instrumental in uplifting and blessing many people in their concerts throughout Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Wisconsin and wherever else the Lord may lead.

The ROYALHEIRS currently sing 4 to 8 times a month, mostly on weekends. Because of their desire to be spiritually fresh, they try to reserve one Sunday per month to be in their home churches. In total, they spend an average of 15 to 20 hours per week in travel, practice or in concert. In addition to morning worship and evening praise services, they also can be found performing in concerts at county fairs, banquets, festivals and camp meetings.

Shem Koutz is the lead singer and manager of The Royalheirs. He began singing around the same time he learned to talk. He previously traveled for 13 years as a soloist to various churches around the mid-Michigan area. He joined The Royalheirs in the fall of 2008, and took over the management of the group in 2017. Shem and his wife, Jessica have called Lansing home since they married in 2003. They are the proud parents of 3 children, Lionel, Brooklyn, and Weston.

Randy Lewis is the tenor singer for the Royalheirs. Randy is no stranger to Gospel Music fans, who will remember him from his years with The Calvarymen, but he has also sang with nationally known groups such as The Toney Brothers, Melody Boys, Blackwood Gospel Quartet, Palmetto State, and The Booth Brothers. Randy and his wife Denise make their home in Clio, MI. They have 2 daughters and a son, who is currently serving in the US Navy. They also enjoy spending time with their 5 grandchildren.

Brian Fuson is the group’s baritone vocalist. Growing up the son of a Baptist preacher, Brian fell in love with Gospel Music and has been singing since he was a young child. He spent 3 years singing baritone with the New Destiny Quartet, and has spent the last 2 years traveling and singing with his wife Crysta and her parents, The Sammons Family. Brian is also a Southern Gospel blogger, his site is called Fuson’s Findings. He has also promoted Gospel Music concerts in the Metro Detroit area for over 15 years. Brian & Crysta make their home in Southgate, Michigan, which is just south of Detroit.
