REAL ART TEAM

From a vision to help local businesses in our community in August 2009 came the idea for what is now known as the' Real Art Team'. The team is comprised of 7th through 12th grade students who are interested in using their gifts in art to inspire others. The students volunteer many hours of their time to beautify our community through the creation of these mural projects. We believe there is beauty in everything God has created, and we want to share that beauty with others.
The Real Art Team is a past recipient of the Priority Children’s Champion Award for Youth Volunteerism and the recipient of several Share Art Grants, made possible through Greater Flint Arts Council and the generosity of the Ruth Mott Foundation.
As the team continues to work on projects, they have collaborated with other student teams such as the foster children at Ennis Center for children and art students from VSAMichigan- Genesee. The team projects have generated interest for the businesses through the media, and the projects are supported by donations.
The students believe they can make a difference for their community, one local business at a time. Acts of kindness and selfless hours of work can go a long way! For more information, please contact Zac Caldwell, Youth Pastor, or Wendy Brimley, Art Director for the Real Art Team.
